The Texas Society of Architects (Texas Architects) is a state component of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The roots of the Society date back to the 1880s as the Texas State Association of Architects. In 1939, 47 architects paid charter dues and elected the Society’s first officers, officially forming the organization as it exists today. Now, with over 6,000 members and 17 regional chapters, Texas Architects is one of the nation's largest organizations for the architectural profession. The Society is headquartered in Austin and strives to be the voice for Texas architecture, supporting the creation of safe, beautiful, sustainable environments.
“We appreciate all your thought, time, and hard work that went into developing and launching our new site. It was a pleasure working with all of you, and we are excited to have this new communication tool. Launching the site... was a major milestone that we couldn't have achieved without your efforts... It's an accomplishment we should all be proud of.”

Sitting in a meeting with about a dozen architects from the Society as they dissected the typography for their new brand I was excited and terrified by the level of scrutiny they were giving every detail. These folks ate, drank, and breathed design. Ultimately my fear was unsubstantiated though. Working with the brand designer (and Society member) and the Society's art director turned out to be a fantastic experience and the structural, simple beauty of the new site was an instant hit.
