We very rarely take part in bids. Almost all of our work is word-of-mouth and we prefer it that way because personal recommendations are invaluable compared to faceless proposals and portfolios. However, an interesting request for qualifications came to our attention that we just had to follow up on. Texas Society of Architects was searching for a new web firm so we threw our name into the hat.
The main reason working with Texas Architects appealed to us was that we would be working for a client with a designer's eye. There are so many competing motivations when it comes to a website that design gets pushed to the bottom sometimes. We knew that architects would place a different value on design. And, not just design of the homepage, but the design of each page, each interface and each pixel.
Armed with this speculation we read through and formed our response to their request for qualifications. One qualification of particular excitement for us was that they were asking for a local firm with in-house designers. This told us that they valued the design process and we felt that Elemental Blend was perfect for the project.
After a response to their request for qualifications, a response to their request for proposals, a team interview and an on-site visit we are pleased to announce that Elemental Blend was selected to design the new Texas Society of Architects website. Be on the look-out for the new site to launch this Fall.
