The 14th Annual Inclusion Works! Conference hosted by the Arc of the Capital Area brings in top experts in inclusive education from across the nation for four-days of sharing the latest research, information and practical strategies. The conference can help you learn how to provide access to the general curriculum, use effective educational practices, and improve your skills in planning and collaboration. Don't miss VSA arts of Texas partner Russell Granet's presentation Inclusion, School Reform, & the Arts and his hands-on workshop Building a Quality Arts Program in your School on Thursday, March 1st. VSA will also provide a fun, children's art activity during the Parent Power Hour/Kids Activity on Friday, March 2nd.

Hosted by VSA arts of Texas and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, the annual Art in the Park Festival is a fun-filled day of visual arts, crafts, performing arts, and entertainment. This year's theme is “Friends Around the World” and will focus on multiculturalism.
This event is a field trip opportunity for school children of all ages as well as open to the public and home-schooled children. Join over 500 children and adults with and without disabilities and enjoy hands-on fun for everyone!

Feeling lucky? It's time for the Art Quilt Raffle! Enter to win a beautiful batik art quilt pieced and donated by Mary Raper and machine quilted by Kim Peterson. Your ticket purchase goes to support the VSA arts of Texas art school comprised of classes inclusive or children and adults with disabilities.

VSA arts of Texas hosted a Guitar Painting Workshop in August 2006 to paint a showcase Gibson Guitar for the Austin GuitarTown Project, a public arts project dedicated to bringing visual and musical artists together in a unique display of ten-foot Gibson Guitar sculptures as well as showcase guitars to be placed throughout the city starting in November 2006. The VSA arts of Texas guitar “Rockability” was painted by five local teens. It will be on display at the Austin Children's Museum through September 2007.

The VSA arts of Texas Spring Shuffle: Mixin' It Up is just around the corner! Mark your calendars now so you won't miss out! The Spring Shuffle is an arts emersion opportunity for students with disabilities ages 8 to 22. Each session incorporates music, movement, drama, and visual arts activities, providing a fun and engaging experience for all involved. Sessions also include parent welcome show & tell and reflection time to help participants better understand their experience and walk away with new insights and new skills through an enthusiastic arts approach!
