Camp Philosophy
The Kent Cummins Magic Camp is a multi-sensory learning experience that uses the fun of magic, puppets and juggling to enhance campers' self-esteem and teach important life skills through modeling appropriate behavior. At The Magic Camp, everyone feels like a star!
Campers of varying ages work together in a non-competitive place, in which participants are challenged to compete with themselves rather than with other campers. Different people learn in different ways. Our experience has demonstrated that these kinds of activities engage children's imaginations in ways that can help them with traditional learning activities as well.
Another factor that set us apart from other camps is the nature our staff. Almost every staff member of the camp, including the Assistant Camp director, used to be a camper at the Magic Camp. Their familiarity with what the camp stands for, through experiencing it themselves, is a huge reason we have stayed so consistently excellent since 1993.
